Hot to trot till the candymans eyes pop!!

Here we are at the end of a 100% tourist style action packed week in Dubai... Its been awesome..

Dubai is crazy... You wouldnt think its a city in the middle east... maybe more like a Silicon Valley style city of America or something like that... Theres so much construction going on.. They work 24 hours on the roads and towers... theres something like 100 sky scrapers currently under construction right now... and thats on top of the massive hotels etc that we all see on the Dubai tourism stuff outside of Dubai... its mad!!

Anyway so weve been staying with some of Nic friends from school in Indo this week which has been super cool.. 1 night with Tara and Dave and the rest with Sarah and Hamad...THANKS DUDES!!...

And finally the action... we went on a Desert safari with Arabian Adventures..which rocked.. we were in a convoy of 24 GMC Yukons (Grunty 3 tonne 4wd beasts)... we ripped through the desert up and down huge sand dunes gettin sideways and dropping off close to 90 degree sand cornices... killer fun until someone loses a tyre!!.. which someone did... 1 car got a little too sideways on a big dune and the tyre popped off so we had a 15-20 min breather while they put it back on... then we continued on to watch the desert sunset, ride camels, eat a huge arabian feast at a desert beduin-style camp and smoke shishas under the stars.. very cool..

We also hit a water park this week called Wild Wadi's.. best we have ever seen... basically just lots of different water slides but they also had a wave pool and a couple of Flowriders which we had to have a rip on... Flowriders are a stationery wave that you can surf... good fun but queues hampered our abilities to get any good at it...its a pain if you take off on the wave then instantly crap out and fly off as you have to go line up again for another go...

Yesterday we went diving of the east coast of the UAE in the Indian Ocean with Underwater Unlimited.... it totally rocked... we saw massive schools of fish including barracudas, trumpet fish, puffer fish, lion and stone fishes.. we got lucky enough to see some turtles and also a medium sized black tip reef shark.. viz was good at about 10 metres.. not quite the 30m we were getting in Greece but the sealife definitely made up for it.

And last of all the heat!! how could i forget the heat... its constantly high 30's plus... usually something in the 40's... the water for diving was around 30-31 degress (like a warm bath... very weird and not so refreshing at times...).. fortunately theres AC everywhere we go...

ok.. this is like an uber long lupchoo update but we havent been getting much of a chance to keep it maintained.. we will get some more pics up very soon.. Now we're heading off to take an abra (small boat) across Dubai creek and go and investigate the Gold and Spice souks...more heat - argh!!

lupchooooooooooooooooooooo x

Well this is some holiday you're having guys! You've obviously been well trained ... And you've done more than we did in Dubai last year! The diving sounded amazing from your e-mail - almost makes us want to take up the sport ourselves! Take care in Bali and have a few Bintang for us!

    See you before long,
